Ruth Gilmore was a full-time lecturer at
the Queen's University of Belfast
for many years, first in Physiology and then in Anatomy. She
took early
retirement in order to devote more time to yoga. Ruth worked
for over
a decade with the Yoga Biomedical Trust (YBT), then with The
Life Centre,
London and now with Yoga Campus. She is a Core Faculty
member for
Yoga Campuses' Yoga Therapy Diploma Course with responsibility
for
scientific and medical content. Ruth is well known for offering Continuing Professional
Development days for yoga teachers on a range of subjects
and
gave the
plenary speech at the 2011 British Wheel of Yoga Annual
Congress
attended by over 400 delegates.
For ten years Ruth wrote an Ask Ruth column in
Yoga & Health
magazine where she has set out how to modify a yoga practice to
meet
a range of medical and lifestyle conditions. Ruth's sound and
easy-to-
understand advice has proved so popular with yoga teachers that
the
Ask Ruth columns have been bound into two volumes of Ask Ruth
books -
Ask Ruth and More Ask Ruth. Each volume costs £18
including UK postage
and packing or £35 for both. For overseas orders please email
