About
Christine
I have been practising Yoga for 20 years and loved it so much, I decided
to become a teacher. It started as an exercise exercise for toning my
muscles, improving my circulation and posture. Since then I have
discovered more about Yoga’s healing properties – How breath control and
movement can calm an agitated mind and how learning to completely relax
can re-energise a tired body.
My
approach is relaxed, friendly and supportive and the style of yoga is
drawn from my own experience in Iyengar, Ashtanga, Jivamukti and Core
Strength Yoga as taught by Paul Fox. My courses will focus on
developing the body’s core strength for support whilst synchronizing the
flowing movement of the postures with the rhythm of the breath to
energises the body, focus the mind and help to avoid muscle strain.
To stretch and soften comfortably and safely into yoga
asanas you must learn to stretch or lengthen your inhalations and
exhalations. With the focus on the rhythm of the breath, distractions
vanish and the mind becomes peaceful and clear. This internal
concentration leads you away from the fragmentations of anxious thoughts
and helps to bring your mind and body back to equilibrium.
Every session is a moment for yourself, in a supportive
and completely non-competitive environment. Yoga is suitable for
everyone because any posture can be modified whilst still gaining the
same benefits. You do not need to be young, thin, flexible or sporty.
Improved flexibility, posture and feeling good about yourself comes
about as you practice Yoga and you will continue to enjoy the benefits
into great old age. |
