Paul has been practicing and studying yoga since 1995 and teaching
since 1997. He holds the British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma and
also completed a teacher training course in Ashtanga Yoga with John
and Lucy Soctt.
Paul does not aspire to be a Guru, or to present himself as anything
other than a student of yoga himself who seeks to share his
knowledge through his teaching.
Paul has studied with a wide range of teachers in various
traditions. For five years he organised seminars and workshops
for the Florida-based Sivananda teacher, Yogi Hari. He has
worked closely with Hein Braat on mantra chanting and has
attended many seminars, yoga days, conferences and festivals to
further his knowledge of yoga. Since
the year 2000 Paul has
focused his personal practice and his teaching on developing his
approach to Core Strength Yoga, and on introducing the Primary
Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the Mysore tradition as
taught by Shri K Pattabhi Jois. Paul has studied with leading
Ashtanga Yoga teachers, John and Lucy Scott, and completed their
one and only UK teaching diploma course in September 2005.
He has also attended the London workshops with Guruji in 2004
and 2005. Paul
is a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma Course Tutor and teaches
In-Service Training Days for BWY teachers, and days introducing
Ashtanga Yoga. He also teaches the new ITEC Level 3
Diploma in Yoga Teaching. Paul is also a member of the BWY's
Education Committee and the National In-Service Training Officer
for the BWY.
